Service Warranty

Every repair Geek for Home performs is backed by a 90-day labor warranty. If the same issue we repaired returns within 90 days of service and the root cause is the same, we will return at no labor charge to make it right.

Parts installed by Geek for Home are covered by the original manufacturer's warranty, which typically ranges from 30 days to 1 year depending on the part. We will help you process any manufacturer warranty claim at no charge.

The warranty does not cover:

  • New or unrelated faults that develop after our visit
  • Damage caused by user error, accidents, power surges, or misuse
  • Liquid spills, drops, or environmental damage
  • Issues caused by third-party software or unauthorized modifications after our service

Cancellation Policy

You may cancel or reschedule a booked visit at any time before the technician is dispatched, at no charge. If you cancel after the technician has arrived on site, a $49 trip fee applies. We will always call you 30 minutes before arrival.

Diagnostic Fee Policy

Onsite diagnostic fees are waived when you proceed with the recommended repair on the same visit. If you choose not to proceed, only the diagnostic fee is charged. We will never start work without your written or verbal approval of the quote.

Parts Policy

All parts are sourced from authorized distributors or OEM channels where available. Where OEM parts are not available, we use high-quality compatible parts and will inform you in advance. Parts pricing is at our cost; we do not mark up parts.

Parts that have been installed are non-returnable. Unused parts ordered specifically for your repair are subject to a 15% restocking fee if cancelled after ordering.

Privacy Policy

Geek for Home collects only the information needed to deliver service: your name, address, phone, email, the device or system being serviced, and payment details. We do not sell, share, or trade your personal information with any third party for marketing purposes.

Data on serviced devices: When we work on a computer, phone, or smart device, our technicians may need access to your accounts or files to complete the repair. Our policy:

  • We never copy, retain, or remove customer data from a device.
  • Any passwords shared during repair should be changed by you after the visit.
  • For data-recovery jobs, recovered data is transferred to a customer-supplied drive and any temporary copies are securely erased within 7 days.
  • Devices are never left unattended at customer premises.

Payment information is processed by PCI-DSS compliant providers (Stripe, Square). We do not store full card numbers on our systems.

You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by emailing privacy@geekforhome.online.

Service Area

Geek for Home provides onsite repair service across the United States through our network of certified technicians, with our headquarters in Dallas, Texas. Coverage areas and same-day availability vary by city; enter your ZIP code on the Contact page or call us to confirm service in your area.

Travel outside a 25-mile radius of downtown Dallas incurs a flat $40 travel fee. We do not currently service areas outside Texas.

Code of Conduct

Every Geek for Home technician is:

  • Background-checked and identity-verified
  • Uniformed with a visible Geek for Home badge and photo ID
  • Insured under our general liability and bonded under our workman's coverage
  • Required to follow customer house rules — shoes-off, mask-on, pet-aware — on request

Limitation of Liability

Geek for Home carries general liability insurance and is bonded. In the unlikely event of accidental damage to your property during service, we will repair or replace the damaged item up to the limits of our insurance coverage. Liability is limited to the cost of the repair we were performing or the cost to remedy the damage, whichever is greater.

Geek for Home is not liable for data loss. We strongly recommend backing up important data before any computer service. We can perform backup as a service for an additional fee.

Anti-Discrimination

Geek for Home provides service without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or disability. Technicians and customers are expected to treat each other with mutual respect.

Updates to These Policies

We may update these policies from time to time. The current version is always posted at this URL. Material changes will be communicated to active customers by email.
